Otto Stüber: An Art Deco Floral Pendant
Silver, black opal
L 8.9 cm; W 3.6 cm
Marks: ‘1166’; silver content mark ‘800’; maker’s mark ‘STÜBER HAMBURG’
Germany, 1921-22

The large à-jour worked silver pendant, set with three cabochons of black opal (‘black crystal’) on stylized leaves was designed by Otto Stüber in the early 1920s. At that time he also executed designs by Carl Otto Czeschka and Anton Kling, both former members of the Wiener Werkstätte.

The pendant is accompanied by a later added silver chain of 62.5 cm length.
