Emerging from three stylized jaguar panther heads the cylindrical, hammered body of the tea caddy is richly adorned with geometric elements inlaid with azurite, chrysokolla and brass, reminiscent of Aztec / Maya architecture. In between human masks cut from tiger’s eye peeping through silver vines set with green chrysocolla, probably symbolizing the jungle vegetation. Crowned by  the three dimensional head of a proud Maya / Aztec king or warrior, also cut from tiger’s eye, the movable silver head adornment set with chrysocolla. The top of the lid set with azurite and entwined leaf ornaments of silver, brass and copper. Brass is also sparingly used to accentuate the geometrical elements on the body of this massive silver box, which can be used as a tea caddy (it closes fast) or for any other storing purpose and will become the centerpiece of every table, cabinet or console, radiating the splendor, pride and grace of a lost kingdom and culture.
In design and workmanship an outstanding quality example of Mexican silver tradition.
