Georg Kleemann (1863 – 1932), since 1887 professor for design at the Pforzheim State School of Precious Metals (Staatliche Fachschule für Edelmetall), created among others jewellery designs for the companies of F. Zerrenner and Theodor Fahrner.
The necklace on offer is a rare example of his designs for F. Zerrenner, executed  in 14K yellow gold with a satinised surface, set with a dark pink zircon, a blue sapphire and natural pearls, and can be considered as a typical manifestation of the abstract-geometric variety in German Jugendstil.
