Riveted steel plates, machine parts and plastic-covered cables seem to have been the coarse sources of inspiration for Albert Sous’ post-modernist gold brooch, making it a typical piece of the new wave / post punk era of the late 1980s.
The subtle shifting of the neatly soldered angular elements creates in contrast a harmonious and dynamic rhythm in their arrangement, the circular segments set with matte acrylic (perspex) or covered by a golden grid adding three-dimensionality to the composition.

Works of metal sculptor and master gold- and silversmith Albert Sous (1935 - ) grace public places of German cities and his jewellery pieces are part of public collections such as Schmuckmuseum Pforzheim and Goldschmiedehaus Hanau.
He was awarded the Bavarian State Prize in 1966, the State Prize of North Rhine-Westphalia in 1983. His jewellery creations have been exhibited in Aachen, Vienna and San Francisco, to name but a few.
