Item No.: RGG00217
Item Description: "Wolfgang Skoluda: A Gold Pendant w/ Egyptian Goose Amulet & Millefiori Glass"
Wolfgang Skoluda: A Gold Pendant with Egyptian Amulet and Millefiori Glass
21.6 ct. yellow gold (900); antique Egyptian glass amulet of a goose, 18th - 20th dynasty; antique Roman millefiori glass fragment from Egypt, ca. 100 B.C – 100 A.C.
Pendant: H 4.4 cm, W 2.0 cm
Leather string: L 100 cm, infinitely adjustable
Marks: ‘Skoluda 93’
Originally designed as an earring in 1993, the item was recently transformed by Wolfgang Skoluda (1935 - ) into a pendant on a red leather string with Skoluda's significant ‘S’ fastener of 21.6 ct. yellow gold. The gold wire holds the ends of the leather string securely and allows to change the length of the string at one’s discretion.
Combined with 21.6 ct. yellow gold Wolfgang Skoluda used an antique Egyptian glass amulet in the shape of a goose and an antique, brightly coloured millefiori glass fragment of the Roman period (ca. 100 B.C. - 100 A.C.) from Egypt for his composition. The pendant is a unique piece.
The pendant will be accompanied by a copy of the original drawing from the sketchbook of Wolfgang Skoluda, including his notes on the two antique fragments, to which our description above refers.
Picture 3 shows the pendant with the leather string adjusted to 70 cm length.
