An elegant late Edwardian trident brooch, its blue sapphires and natural blister pearl underlining the maritime topic of the trident, attribute of the ancient Greek and Roman god of the seas Poseidon / Neptune. While Poseidon/Neptune presides over freshwater and sea, his brothers Zeus/Jupiter and Hades/Pluto reign Heaven and Underworld. The dynamically shaped trident as well as the lower end of the staff are set with sparkling old European and rose cut diamonds, the largest at the lower end measuring approx. 0.25 carat. The natural white blister pearl is of slightly irregular, baroque shape with a diameter of approx. 11.5 mm.
The brooch displays a classic elegance and would make a splendid accessory for ladies and gentlemen alike to accompany you on your next cruise.
