Arnd Heuer (1940 - ), goldsmith and sculptor, since 1979 professor for jewellery design and metal working at Hildesheim University of Applied Sciences, has received numerous awards for his fantastic jewellery creations, of which most were conceptualized as unique pieces.
The bracelet is a complex, kinetic construction of sculpted links made of 14k yellow gold with a coating of fine gold thus imparting a satinised finish in a rich, warm gold tone contrasting the machine aesthetics of the links which are drawn together by strong, built-in magnets, lending the bracelet the consistency of a slightly elastic bangle when worn.
Apart from the technically challenging concept, the interlocking, well-proportioned links blend in to a harmoniously balanced work expressing strength and fragility, precision, power and beauty at the same time.
